LGS Foundation Welcomes New Board President

We are delighted to welcome Karen Groff as the new President of the LGS Foundation Board of Directors. Karen is a retired educator and long-time member of the LGS Community. As a teacher, elementary principal, and staff development coordinator, she worked tirelessly to inspire and empower children, families, and staff to realize their full potential. We are honored that she brings this important work to the LGS community.

“As the new President, I understand the importance of providing leadership to energize a community of hope, discover cures, and implement the new five-year strategic plan. Nothing is more important than positively impacting the quality of life for you and your loved one with LGS, ” says Karen. “On behalf of myself and the other Board Members, I want you to know that we will work tirelessly alongside you and the staff to improve the lives of those impacted by LGS.”

Karen, her husband Jeff, and their two children, Daniel and Jessica, reside in Columbus, Ohio. Karen and Jeff work hard to create a loving and inclusive extended family that honors and supports Danny, an individual with LGS and Type 1 Diabetes. They worked with Lundbeck’s LGS Together initiative to create educational media for families impacted by LGS, and Karen served as an Ohio Ambassador for the LGS Foundation for many years.

Natalie Gilmore, President of the LGS Foundation, believes Karen will do an amazing job. “It has been my honor and privilege over the last 4 years to serve as the LGS Foundation’s Board President. I could not be more thrilled to hand that responsibility to Karen Groff,” says Natalie. “Karen’s educational background plus personal experience as the mother of Danny, who lives with LGS, will serve the Foundation well in her new role as President. Karen will be a great leader for the Board of Directors and will continue to drive the LGS Foundation’s vision and mission as we seek the cures for LGS.”

Please join us in welcoming Karen into this new and critical role.
