Addyson (age 11)
Hi my name is Addyson Gruber. I am 11 years old and I live in Cincinnati Ohio with my brother Braxtin, my mom Katie and my dad Mark, and Braxtin’s service dog, Dawson. I am going into the 6th grade at St Antoninus.
My Brother Braxtin suffers from LGS and Dravet Syndrome. He is 8 yrs old. I really like to play softball and basketball and I also like to hang out with my friends. My brother and I like to play video games and board games together. He says his favorite thing about me is my hugs. He loves to cuddle with me. He calls me “Hunny Bear”. He loves anything wrestling or Harry Potter.
I plan to go to college and maybe do something with fundraising or even being a special needs teacher.
I would tell a special needs sibling it’s not always easy to be the sibling of someone with special needs but you were chosen because you are so special, days will be hard but remember not everyone gets the privilege we do. It’s a blessing!!
