In Memory of Savannah Lee Weigand

03/31/2007 - 02/12/2023

Savannah was my first granddaughter, and from the very beginning, she brought a special kind of joy into my life. Even though we lived far apart and only saw each other a few times a year, the time we shared always felt full and meaningful. We made up for the distance in the simplest, sweetest ways — shopping together, going swimming, taking walks, and curling up to watch movies. She especially loved scary movies, and those moments together are some of my most treasured memories. No matter how long our visits were, it never felt like enough time.

Savannah had such a gentle and loving heart. She adored animals, especially her cat Elsa. She dreamed of working with animals when she grew up, and it was easy to see why — she had a natural kindness and tenderness that drew every living thing to her.

She was always happy. Her smile had a way of lighting up the room and lifting my spirit. I don’t think I ever saw her get mad at anyone. She simply carried a quiet, beautiful goodness with her that made people feel comfortable and loved.

Savannah was truly beautiful, inside and out. One of the things I will hold closest to my heart is the way she hugged me — always gently patting my back, as if she was comforting me at the same time. It was such a small gesture, but it said so much about who she was.

The time we spent together was never enough, but every moment we had was special. I will always be grateful for the memories we made, the laughter we shared, and the love she gave so freely.
