Ed Bice

Board Member

Ed is a social entrepreneur who has worked at the intersection of global journalism, social media, and technology. He is also father to an adult son with LGS. In 2006, Ed founded the global nonprofit Meedan, serving as its CEO and Board Chair to his retirement in 2025. In 2024, he won the Skoll Award for Social Innovation. Through aggregating and translating global media, networking classrooms across languages, creating a COVID-19 misinformation response program, and networking journalists and civil society to inform voters during elections around the world, Ed’s work has centered on improving the internet.

Through all of these adventures at the frontiers of the internet, artificial intelligence, and global journalism, Ed has centered the experience of being father to an individual who sees and engages with the world in a completely unique, challenging, and beautiful way. He wants to help push AI driven research to the challenge of developing new therapeutic breakthroughs for the individuals and caregivers who battle LGS.
