Host a Local Walk for LGS

Simple Walks. Real Connection. Meaningful Impact.

The Walk for LGS Research is a global awareness and fundraising initiative led by the LGS Foundation. Each April, families, volunteers, workplaces, and community groups host local, community-led walks to raise awareness for Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) and support critical research.

Community-Led Walks are designed to be:

  • Simple to host
  • Meaningful for families
  • Focused on connection, visibility, and impact

You don’t need event experience.
You don’t need a large crowd.
You just need a willingness to bring people together.

A Community-Led Walk is a welcoming, local gathering held during April that brings people together to raise awareness for LGS, support research, and strengthen local connections. Participants walk, wheel, stroll, or roll together for a short time, then spend additional time connecting, sharing stories, and building community.

Walks can be small or large, casual or lightly planned, and may be public, private, or workplace-based. There are no distance requirements or formal programs—success is measured by participation, connection, and the shared impact created together.

Hosting a Walk creates a meaningful impact, including:

  • Connecting families affected by LGS in your area
  • Raising local awareness about a rare and often misunderstood condition
  • Giving friends, coworkers, and neighbors a way to show support
  • Creating visible moments of inclusion, understanding, and hope
  • Supporting research that leads to better treatments and outcomes

Every Walk—no matter the size—helps families feel seen and supported.

Your Walk Creates Real Impact

Hosting a Community-Led Walk helps raise local awareness, connect families, and fund critical LGS research. Every step sparks conversation, every gathering builds understanding, and every dollar raised moves us closer to better treatments and outcomes.

You don’t need a big crowd to make a difference—you just need to start.
