Emmy Award–Winning Composer & Songwriter

Ben Decter is an Emmy Award–winning composer and songwriter who has created a diverse body of music for television, film, and theater. His work includes the Netflix hit Lucifer, ABC’s Bless This Mess, FOX’s Lethal Weapon, and Shonda Rhimes’ Off the Map. His score for the Academy Award–nominated film Operation Homecoming earned him an Emmy Award, and his compositions have been featured by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and NFL Films.

A graduate of Harvard University, Ben’s writing has appeared in HuffPost, Months to Years, and Kaleidoscope Magazine. He is also the creator of the acclaimed children’s album Another Big Day and records under the name Paley Jones.

Ben and his wife, Jackie, live in Los Angeles with their two children. Their daughter lives with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and inspired Ben’s original musical, It’s All Your Fault, Tyler Price!, which explores their family’s journey with LGS through music and storytelling. When not composing, Ben and Jackie enjoy spending time together at The Children’s Ranch, an inclusive animal caretaking program Jackie founded to help children and young adults of all abilities learn empathy, responsibility, and connection through caring for animals.
