Why do I need to register through the LGS Foundation?
The LGS Foundation asks that you register for the walk through www.firstgiving.com/lgsf/2011 and click by "join now" so we can
determine how many people are joining our team and how many t-shirts/sizes to order.
What is firstgiving.org?
First Giving is a reliable and secure fund raising site which we use to help facilitate the registration. It may also be used to raise
additional funds for the LGS Foundation to help offset the costs associated with the walk and the annual "meet and greet".
What is the Meet and Greet?
The LGS Meet and Greet is a dinner/cocktail reception that is held the evening before the National Walk each year. All families who
register to walk with "Team LGS Foundation" through our firstgiving site are invited. Dinner will be provided. A cash bar will be
available.
Should I register through the Epilepsy Foundation?
The LGS Foundation recommends that you also register for the walk through the Epilepsy Foundation by clicking here and agree to
their terms and conditions.
What are the registration fees for the walk?
Registration is free to join "Team LGS Foundation". Registration on the Epilepsy Foundation website is $35 for adults and $20 for
children.
Do I receive a t-shirt?
You will receive a t-shirt from the LGS Foundation as long as you register. T-shirts will be distributed during the Meet & Greet or the
morning of the walk. You will receive an Epilepsy Foundation t-shirt if you register through their website.
How do I apply to receive assistance or a free night's hotel room for the walk?
The LGS Foundation will be helping families financially by offering a one night hotel stays and/or financial assistance related to the
walk. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2012. Limit one room per LGS patient's immediate family. To apply, click here.
How long is the walk?
The walk is about 2 miles. A route and schedule can be found here.
Can I make signs or banners for the walk?
The LGS Foundation will be bringing signs and banners for the walk, but you are also welcome to make your own!
